October 28, 2007 - The winds have been back to normal and the rains have stopped for a few days now. The dorado are back! And lots of them. Today dorado were caught inshore and offshore. The Super Fly had one sailfish bite just a couple miles out and saw another one free jumping. A bunch of mackerel were also caught inshore along with a rooster fish. A couple other rooster fish were lost and unfortunately finding bait fish was a tough today.

October 16, 2007 – We’ve had tons of rain all over Nicaragua and strong onshore winds for about two weeks now. No one is able to fish and all the pangas and center consoles are on land to avoid getting beaten up by the choppy seas. Today it finally calmed down just a little bit, but not enough to go out comfortably. It should be awesome as soon as we can get out there again!
Pacas (hide your roses) from El Salvador came down for a wedding and was dieing to do some fishing. They headed toward the estuary on a road that was now a river. After nearly getting stuck in the mud a few times they finally decided that it would be impossible to get to the pargo hole (snapper). Here are a few pics of the journey.

I didn’t know you could troll using a four-wheel drive vehicle, but apparently you can. Look at the pic! And I had no idea there was trout fishing in the rivers here. I guess it’s only possible with lots of rain. Ha ha ha.

October 10, 2007 - The onshore winds have gotten strong making the ocean pretty rough. Make sure your mooring buoy is in good condition so you don't get beached like the boat below. As soon as it calms down again there should be really good fishing inshore!

October 7, 2007 - Yesterday there were still lots of big dorado in front of San Juan del Sur just a couple miles out. But today we wanted to catch some wahoo. So, we headed to a secret spot aboard the Commodore. We just had a lot of rain so the water was green and murky close to shore. There was a nice line between the green and blue water, which we trolled.

The first fish of the day might have been the biggest but unfortunately we didn’t see it. The hooks on the lure bent open and we lost what was probably a wahoo. Atfer that we caught a few bonitos, a couple jacks, a nice yellowfin tuna, some dorado, we finally landed a small wahoooooo!
Unfortunately we also lost the biggest bull dorado of the day. There was also a lot of aquatic life out there. There were porpoises, olive riley turtles, and even two hump back whales!

Oh, and to finish off the day Carlos caught this catfish when the boat was on the mooring buoy.
